Our nations capital is the newest backdrop for classic intimate weddings. Just picture for a minute - historic architecture, white marble buildings, crowds of tourists eyeing up the newly married couple - sounds perfect, right? Our vision behind this 'Washington D.C. Intimate Elopement' shoot was to showcase the couple in their natural element and capture what a real elopement would look and feel like.

A simple yet chic picnic set up on the National Mall with a classic marbled cake, an assortment of cheeses and fruit, bread, and of course champagne! One of my favorite memories from this day was watching the couple feed each other grapes and toasting with amber glass goblets and laughing endlessly...laughter is key! Karly wore a classic Sarah Seven gown, a show stopping ring, and earrings with the perfect touch of glam. Dustin wore a a classic black tux.

We wanted to be the followers and let the couple lead the way, capturing them all around D.C. - and boy did we! As the couple walked towards the Lincoln Memorial tourists gave blessings and congratulated the newlyweds as they walked hand in hand up the monument stairs. Little did we know that a choir was congragating behind them and started serenading the couple - AMAZING!

Would you of guessed that Karly and Dustin met the morning of the shoot? Between Karly's humble personality and Dustin's infectious sense of humor it was a match and if you ask me I wouldn't be able to tell from the photos that this wasn't a REAL elopement. A huge shoutout to Aly from Satin and Sage Events for being such a rockstar in planning/designing this gorgeous shoot and being our left hand lady throughout the entire day!! The four of us had an absolute blast.
